Jen and DJ were married in a beautiful, intimate lakeside ceremony with their closest family and friends. The weather did not initially cooperate but they were able to bump the ceremony by a few minutes and the rain held off for the rest of the night! It could’ve been worse and Ryan and I were a little concerned (ok so it was only me) on the way to the venue because we drove through a tornado warning! We had a little discussion about the difference between a tornado watch and a tornado warning. 🙂 I am not really the best person to have around during a storm but Ryan is calm, cool and collected and can drive like Earnhardt if necessary. Of course my plan was to find a ditch somewhere to hide in and his plan was to outrun it. Luckily, we didn’t have to pick one.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time getting to know Jen and DJ and their guests and I personally think the rain made the background of the portraits all the more vibrant! Everyone enjoyed cocktails on the deck overlooking the lake as the sun set. It was beautiful. After nightfall, the newlyweds cut the cake and we settled in for the toasts. One of DJ’s friends gave one of the funniest toasts we’ve ever heard. It was absolutely hysterical. I know you’ll enjoy looking through some favorites from this lakeside wedding!

Elegant and beautiful! The moisture from the rain makes the background look extra lush which makes the bride and groom really stand out!
