You know how sometimes you meet someone and you just click? That’s how I felt when I first met Erin. We get along like old friends! She and Dustin are actually getting married at the same venue that Ryan and I used for our wedding which makes their whole journey even more special to me. We talked about a few options for their engagement session and decided on the Biltmore. They had never been and, as you probably know, Ryan and I have been many times and we just love it there. We had the session scheduled for a few weeks ago but we moved it due to inclement weather a few days before the session. Of course the few hours that we would’ve been shooting ended up being sunny and beautiful. Oh well. Needless to say, I was watching the weather for the rescheduled date like a hawk and it looked pretty good but a little warm. As the date approached, the chance of rain kept increasing. When the day arrived, we were looking at a 70% chance of storms but we decided to go for it because we were determined to make it happen! Ryan and I drove through a patch of pretty heavy rain but these two literally drove through a hail storm! We were so relieved when we made it to the Biltmore and the skies were clear and it was about 72 degrees. We couldn’t have asked for a better calm after the storm. The rain cleared out a lot of the crowds and we basically had the place to ourselves except for a couple of weddings that were being held on the property but we maneuvered around those easily.
Erin and Dustin are such a perfect pair and a real joy to be around. We had a great time getting to know them better and really enjoyed our time together. They are so comfortable in front of the camera and made my job easy! I absolutely loved Erin’s dress. It gives such a romantic feel that is absolutely perfect for a mountain sunset with your future hubby…and pretty much everything else, as you’ll see below. These guys walked all over the grounds with us looking for the best light and the best locations and boy, was it worth it! These are some of my favorite photos of all time.
As we were wrapping us, Dustin told us that he had really enjoyed the session and it was much more fun than he thought it would be. We love getting compliments like this. We’re beyond grateful for these two and their easy-going, fun-loving selves!
PSA-This may make you want to run out and buy a soft pink flowy dress, grab your man and hit the road to the mountains!
