I actually met Melissa for the first time in May at Katelyn and Phillip’s wedding. She and Phillip are cousins and their family loved the photos from Katelyn and Philip’s wedding so Melissa reached out to see if we were available for her wedding day and the rest is history! We are so lucky to have such amazing couples who appreciate our work and their experience with us and want others to be able to have that same experience. Their families made us feel so welcome at this beautiful wedding and it was so nice to be able to see familiar faces and talk with people I had worked with just a few months earlier.
Melissa and Heath chose the Barn at Oakboro for their wedding and it was absolutely gorgeous. From the chandeliers to the market lights to the rustic decor on the walls, the barn looked magical. The flower arrangements that Melissa chose were just perfect for fall. Her bouquet was one of the most colorful and unique that I’d had the pleasure of photographing. The floral draped cake was beautiful and delicious! I can attest to that.
The newlyweds were high school sweethearts who eventually went their separate ways but fate brought them back together. They were married in a light breeze under the bough of a large oak tree by Heath’s brother. Melissa’s two sons walked her down the aisle and stood with her during the ceremony. The couple danced their first dance to “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran and as the lyrics say “we were just kids when we fell in love”, this song was perfect for these two.
I could tell how much these two were loved by everyone at the ceremony as I overheard bits and pieces of conversation and saw the sweet interactions. Melissa and Heath are a perfect match. Their ceremony was gorgeous, the food was delicious and the reception was a great party! What more could you want? I hope you enjoy reliving their special day as much as I enjoyed being a part of it.
Melissa & Heath – Thank you both so much for allowing us to be a part of your wonderful wedding day and for making us feel so welcome! XOXO Meredith
